Production by the police (politifremstilling)
Also known as production by the police, police assistance, fremstilling ved politiet, politiets bistand
Politifremstilling means that the bailiff's court has the police bring in a debtor who fails to appear at the enforcement hearing.
In practice
A debtor who simply does not turn up cannot get away with it. The bailiff’s court may decide that they are to be brought in by the police.
It is not used often — but the possibility is what makes the duty to appear real. For many debtors, knowing that it exists is enough.
Where it commonly goes wrong
- Giving up on the case at the first non-appearance. Non-appearance is not the end of the case; it is a step in it.
